We develop large scale community solar projects, expand green infrastructure at homes, and install affordable home heating and cooling upgrades. </span></p><p><span>To learn more about our work visit our website </span>verdenw.org<span>.</span></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p><p><span>The Home Heating & Cooling Field Coordinator plays an important role in helping community members access energy efficiency resources and healthier, more comfortable homes. This position works directly with participants throughout the entire process by coordinating field activities, scheduling projects, supporting installations, and ensuring households feel informed, supported, and connected every step of the way.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>The Field Coordinator serves as a bridge between participants, contractors, and Verde staff while helping the organization achieve enrollment and project goals across multiple ongoing grants and energy efficiency programs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with people, values relationship-building, and is passionate about environmental justice, community-centered work, and creating healthier homes. Candidates with an interest in home performance, energy efficiency, healthy homes, or building science are encouraged to apply, even if they do not have direct industry questions.</span></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Duties & Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Participant Support & Field Coordination</strong></p><ul><li><span>Serve as a primary point of contact for participants enrolled in the Home Heating & Cooling Program.</span></li><li><span>Coordinate Home Energy Assessments, installation appointments, quality assurance visits, and participant scheduling.</span></li><li><span>Guide participants through program processes, documentation requirements, and installation timelines.</span></li><li><span>Maintain regular communication with participants through phone calls, text messages, emails, and in-person visits.</span></li><li><span>Conduct post-installation follow-up to ensure participants understand heat pump operation, maintenance, and program expectations.</span></li><li><span>Help identify participant barriers and escalate concerns when needed.</span></li><li><span>Maintain accurate participant notes and project updates in CRM systems.</span></li><li><span>Support participant retention and engagement throughout the duration of the program.</span></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Community Workshops & Participant Education</strong></p><ul><li><span>Lead one bilingual quarterly community engagement workshop in English and Spanish.</span></li><li><span>Deliver culturally responsive education related to energy efficiency, heat pumps, healthy homes, and program participation.</span></li><li><span>Support participant understanding of energy-saving opportunities and available resources.</span></li><li><span>Build and maintain positive relationships with participants and community partners.</span></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Interpretation & Translation Support</strong></p><ul><li><span>Provide interpretation and translation support in English and Spanish for participants, contractors, workshops, program materials, and program-related communications as needed.</span></li><li><span>Support language accessibility for Spanish-speaking households to ensure participants fully understand program requirements, installation processes, and available resources.</span></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Contractor & Project Coordination</strong></p><ul><li><span>Coordinate communication between participants and contractors.</span></li><li><span>Help ensure projects move forward efficiently and remain on schedule.</span></li><li><span>Support contractors in gathering participant information and project documentation.</span></li><li><span>Assist with project follow-up and scheduling coordination.</span></li><li><span>Help address scheduling conflicts and participant concerns related to installations.</span></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Quality Assurance Support</strong></p><ul><li><span>Coordinate follow-up quality assurance visits for installations with QA external team</span></li><li><span>Support collection of project photographs, forms, model numbers, and required documentation.</span></li><li><span>Help address participant concerns related to installations or scheduling.</span></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Administrative Support</strong></p><ul><li><span>Maintain organized participant and project records.</span></li><li><span>Support program tracking, reporting, and enrollment activities.</span></li><li><span>Participate in team meetings and operational coordination efforts.</span></li><li><span>Perform other duties as assigned.</span></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications & Requirements</strong></p><ul><li><span>Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and active automobile insurance required.</span></li><li><span>Ability to travel throughout the Portland Metro area for participant visits, workshops, contractor coordination, and field activities.</span></li><li><span>Bilingual English/Spanish written and spoken required.</span></li><li><span>Experience working with historically underserved communities is preferred.</span></li><li><span>Interest in environmental justice, healthy homes, energy efficiency, or community-based work strongly preferred.</span></li><li><span>Interest in home performance, weatherization, or building science concepts is highly desirable.</span></li><li><span>BPI certification or previous experience in the home performance industry is a plus but not required.</span></li><li><span>Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.</span></li><li><span>Ability to manage multiple projects, schedules, and participant communications simultaneously.</span></li><li><span>Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.</span></li><li><span>Minimum of two (2) years of experience in community outreach, participant engagement, customer service, sales, or a related field preferred.</span></li><li><span>Experience building relationships with community members and supporting historically underserved populations strongly desired.</span></li><li><span>Candidates who are comfortable talking with people, conducting outreach, and helping participants navigate programs are encouraged to apply.</span></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p><ul><li><span>Ability to travel frequently throughout the Portland Metro area.</span></li><li><span>Ability to walk residential properties and attend field visits and community events.</span></li><li><span>Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.</span></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p><p><span>This position includes a combination of office, field, and community-based work environments, including participant homes, contractor meetings, workshops, and outreach events.
