<p><strong>Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Lead</strong></p><p>📍 Richmond, VA (Hybrid) | 💰 $200K Base + 35% Bonus</p><p>🏢 Publicly Traded Financial Services Company</p><p><br></p><p>This is not a traditional FP&A role.</p><p><br></p><p>We’re partnering with a fast-growing, publicly traded financial services company that is looking for an<strong> FP&A Lead </strong>to help scale and optimize a highly visible finance function at a pivotal stage of growth. </p><p><br></p><p>The company has <strong>tripled in size over the last 15 months</strong>, has become one of the top-performing mortgage REITs since COVID, and is continuing to expand rapidly.</p><p><br></p><p>This role <strong>reports directly to the CFO</strong> and offers broad exposure across executive leadership, accounting, trading, portfolio management, and capital markets. You’ll play a critical role in helping leadership understand the company’s financial position, portfolio performance, market dynamics, and strategic outlook at any given time.</p><p><br></p><p>If you enjoy operating at the intersection of finance, strategy, forecasting, and capital markets — and want a seat at the table in a highly collaborative, low-ego environment — this could be an exceptional opportunity.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>What You’ll Be Doing</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Own and enhance the company’s forecasting and financial modeling infrastructure</li><li>Lead budgeting, planning, and variance analysis processes</li><li>Build executive and board-level reporting tied to portfolio and company performance</li><li>Partner cross-functionally with accounting, trading, and capital markets teams</li><li>Conduct scenario analysis, sensitivities, and competitor/market analysis</li><li>Help leadership make strategic decisions through actionable financial insights</li><li>Optimize FP&A processes and contribute to building scalable infrastructure as the company grows</li><li>Present findings and recommendations directly to executive leadership</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>What They’re Looking For</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>8–12+ years of FP&A, strategic finance, capital markets, investment management, or related financial services experience</li><li>Strong background within financial services environments such as REITs, hedge funds, banks, insurance, asset management, or fixed income markets</li><li>Advanced Excel and complex financial modeling experience</li><li>Strong understanding of forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and financial statements</li><li>Ability to bridge accounting, portfolio, and trading perspectives into a cohesive financial narrative</li><li>Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences</li><li>Strategic thinker with a highly collaborative and proactive mindset</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Strong Pluses</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Fixed income, MBS, derivatives, or mortgage REIT exposure</li><li>Bloomberg and/or BlackRock Aladdin experience</li><li>MBA, CFA, or CPA</li><li>Experience supporting executive or board-level reporting</li><li>Experience helping build or optimize FP&A infrastructure in scaling organizations</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Why This Opportunity Stands Out</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Direct mentorship and partnership with the CFO</li><li>High visibility across the organization and executive leadership team</li><li>Opportunity to shape and build the FP&A function as the company scales</li><li>Collaborative, values-driven, “no jerks” culture</li><li>Hybrid schedule with flexibility (Tues–Thurs in office)</li><li>Exposure to both Richmond and New York capital markets operations</li><li>Opportunity to make a real impact at a company in a major growth phase</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>📩 If you have a strong financial services background and are looking for a strategic, high-impact FP&A opportunity with long-term growth potential, we’d love to connect.</p>
