The Director of PET Image Formation leads a multi-site, cross-functional team responsible for delivering acquisition and reconstruction capabilities across our PET/CT and MR/PET systems. This role spans the full product lifecycle, from early concept development through deployment and field support, leveraging data and analytics to continuously enhance product performance and customer outcomes. Success in this role requires strong collaboration across Software Engineering, Molecular Imaging R&D, Product Management, and Customer Service, ensuring alignment between technical innovation, product strategy, and real-world clinical needs. You are responsible for: Ensuring the performance and efficacy of the image formation pipeline across PET/CT and MR/PET systems. Driving delivery across a complex product portfolio, balancing scalability, performance, and cost considerations. Leading a multi-site engineering organization, fostering accountability, ownership, and continuous development across teams. Championing a customer-first mindset, proactively monitoring operational trends and ensuring timely resolution of high-impact field issues. Leveraging data and analytics to drive product improvements, optimize development processes, and enhance overall customer experience. Collaborating across global stakeholders, aligning R&D, product, and service teams to delivering high-quality, clinically impactful solutions. This position may suit you best if: Bring deep expertise in High-Performance Computing, including computer architectures and implementation technologies across both traditional algorithmic and AI-driven approaches. Apply domain knowledge in PET physics or a closely related field. Drive cross-functional coordination and communication, enabling alignment and timely execution across organizational boundaries. Utilize data-driven methodologies to resolve—and ideally prevent—customer issues and improve system performance. Demonstrate a self-starter mindset, thriving in a fast-paced, evolving R&D and regulated medical device environment. Lead and develop high-performing teams, including coaching, performance management, and succession planning. Minimum Qualifications: Holding a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field; advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred 8+ years of leadership experience in software development, ideally within multi-site and multidisciplinary environments Applying expertise in modern C++, AI/ML tooling, performance optimization, and continuous integration pipelines Driving process improvement and project execution, with experience incorporating “Voice of the Customer” insights (preferred) Operating effectively across global teams, managing communication across cultures and time zones Who we are: We are a team of more than 72,000 highly dedicated Healthineers in more than 70 countries. The base pay range for this position is: $161,170 - $221,606 Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
